The main frame of Filseclab Personal Firewall as following:

Control Panel Buttons

  • Status: switches to current panel
  • Monitor: switches to monitor panel
  • Log: switches to log panel
  • Rules: switches to rules panel
  • Settings: switches to settings panel
  • About: switches to about panel
  • Help: to open the help documentation
  • Exit: to exit this program

    • Operation Buttons

  • Start/Stop: to start or stop the firewall
  • Mode Wizard: to open the firewall mode wizard
  • LiveUpdate: to launch the live update program
  • Signup: to launch the signup program, it will not be launched if you ever signed up successfully.

  • minimize
  • current is normal mode, click it set to topmost mode
  • current is topmost mode, click it set to normal mode
  • maximize
  • restore
  • hide main window but dose not exit.
  • Cut off the network.
  • Start firewall
  • Stop firewall

    • Security Level

  • High: This level will automatically create very accurate rules when prompt, but this may increase the prompt amount.
  • Medium (Recommended): This level will automatically create like-matching rules when prompt, it is recommended.
  • Low: This level will automatically grant the access when prompt needed, this security level is low.

    • Traffic graph

    You may change the options for the traffic graph, they are:

  • Maximum scale: You may set the maximum scale of the traffic graph in the Settings panel, the default is auto-scale.
  • Double scale: You may enable the checkbox of D-Scale in the Main frame for getting the double scale.
  • Sent: Enable the Sent checkbox for getting the outgoing traffic.
  • Received: Enable the Received checkbox for getting the incoming traffic.
  • Total: Enable the Total checkbox for getting the total traffic.

    • Status

    Status Description
    Starttime The time of this program startup.
    Elapsed time Elapsed time from start to now.
    Bytes in Traffic of incoming bytes.
    Bytes out Traffic of outgoing bytes.
    Packets blocked The total packets have been blocked.
    Packets passed The total packets have been passed.
    Security level Current security level. It may be high, medium or low, click Security level to view the details.
    Applications Current work mode for applications. Click Rules -> Application to view or set the application's work mode.?/TD>
    Intranet Current work mode for intranet. Click Rules -> Intranet to view or set the intranet's work mode.
    ICMP (PING) Current work mode for ICMP. Click Rules -> ICMP to view or set the ICMP's work mode.
    Websites Current work mode for websites. Click Rules -> Websites to view or set the websites' work mode.
